State Champs 24/WABL 25 Trials Info

Due to the large number of boys who trial in these age groups we have a pre-selection process to be considered for a WABL trial.
If you wish to be considered for selection for State Champs 2024 and WABL 2025 and you have NOT represented Senators in WABL for 2024, you MUST attend the following tryouts at Warwick Stadium.
No exemptions will be given for these tryouts.
U11 Boys
- Tuesday 1st October 4:30-5:45pm, and
- Wednesday 2nd October 4:30-5:45pm.
U13 Boys
- Tuesday 1st October 4:30-5:45pm, and
- Wednesday 2nd October 4:30-5:45pm.
U15 Boys
- Tuesday 1st October 6-7:15pm, and
- Thursday 3rd October 4:30-5:45pm.
U17 Boys
- Tuesday 1st October 6-7:15pm
- Thursday 3rd October 4:30-5:45pm.
Senator WABL 2024 Player, All Girls U11-20 Domestic Non/Senators Players & Shortlisted Boys Players
The following tryout dates are only available to Senators WABL Players in 2024 and shortlisted players from the Domestic/Non-Senators tryouts.
All trials will be held at Warwick Stadium unless specifically noted below in which case they will be held at Woodvale Secondary College.

selection of teams
If you would like to be considered for a Senators WABL team in 2025 you must participate in the State Champs trial process even if you are unable to play
State Champs: Teams are selected during the October trial process. Every year we have more players trialling then the positions available to us so some players will not be successful. Selection in a State Champs teams does not guarantee selection in a WABL Team for 2025.
WABL: Teams for WABL will be selected post State Champs tournaments as the tournament will act as part of the trial process. Emails will be sent to athletes by the 20th December 2024 for WABL 2025.

Basketball WA State Champs will be held across 5 weekends in November and December. All games this year will be played at Bendat Basketball Centre and Warwick Stadium.
16/17 November 2024 – U11 Boys & U13 Girls (Divisions 2–5)
23/24 November 2024 – U11 Girls & U15 Boys (Divisions 2–5)
30 November / 1 December 2024 – U13 Boys & U15 Girls (Divisions 2–5)
7/8 December 2024 – U17 Boys, U17 Girls, U19 Boys & U20 Girls (Divisions 2–5)
13/14/15 December 2024 – State Titles – All Championship Divisions across all age groups
State Champs Tournament Fee’s are $110 for all athletes. Further information on what is included in this fee will be provided on successful selection to a team.
Once selected to a team, each player will be required to wear Senators shorts which can be purchased from Reception for $45.
A warmup top is not essential for State Champs.
Bring a basketball with your name on it, a FULL water bottle with your name on it and a reversible singlet.
When you arrive you will have your name ticked off the registration link and you will have a number placed on your arm and leg. A photo may also be taken to assist coaches with player identification.
Exemptions may be provided for injured athletes. For this to be considered please contact the club prior to try outs.
If a player is injured or unable to play the actual tournament they must still attend trials to ensure consideration for WABL 2025.
